West Oxford Avenue and
South Platte River Bridge

The City of Sheridan, Colorado selected SEMA Construction and Bates Engineering, Inc. as the design-build team for the $2,000,000 West Oxford Avenue and South Platte River Bridge project. The two-span 217-foot long 54-inch prestressed concrete bulb tee girder bridge was completed in January, 2000.

The project widened Oxford Avenue from 2 to 4 lanes for about 1/4 mile. The project was constructed in two phases in order to maintain traffic on West Oxford Avenue.

Pinery 800,000 Gallon
Water Storage Tanks

Bates Engineering joined the design-build Western Summit Constructors, Inc., (a subsidiary of The Industrial Company of Steamboat Springs, Colorado) team to provide design and construction phase services for two 800,000 gallon water storage tanks for the Pinery Water and Wastewater District south of Parker, Colorado.

Construction of the circular post-tensioned concrete tanks began in March and was completed in August, 1999. Both tanks were built concurrently even though the tank sites are located approximately 5 miles apart.
