3.5-MG North Water Storage Tank

Rocky Mountain High Colorado

At nearly 10,000 feet in elevation the Town of Breckenridge 3.5-MG North Water Storage Tank makes workers breathless, literally!  It’s our “Rocky Mountain High Colorado” tank project.

Continued development in the Town created the need for this completely buried tank located in The Highlands, an up-scale development of vacation homes.  Excavation of the site started in the fall of 2002 and completion of the tank will be in mid-2004 due to the short four to five month long construction season.  The 720 cubic yard floor slab placement occurred on July 18th.    

Grimm Construction Co. Inc., a subsidiary of Garney Companies is the general contractor.  Wes Conover is the Superintendent and Keith McKinney is the Project Manager.  Bates Engineering’s field staff is led by Kit Badger, MSCE, PE.
